Northern light photography

Under the guidance of an experience photographer and wilderness guide you will learn both basic and advanced techniques for landscape-, northern lights- and wilderness photography. The lessons will take place in one of the most beautiful areas in the world. It will be an intense couple of days for those who wish to develop their skills, all happening in dramatic surroundings. Ringstad Resort is surrounded by wild, untouched nature and wildlife. Also, the chance of catching the northern lights is big.

Northern lights-photographer and wilderness guide Ian Robins will make sure you get professional input both indoors and outdoors. He will be your instructor, and he speaks English, German and Norwegian. You will be inspired through presentations and lectures, image reviews, photo demonstrations out in the open, discussions – while socializing. We will work with different techniques and themes. The goal is that each and every one of you will experience new things and learn new skills. Such as knowledge of composition, techniques, image processing, light, thoughts and reflections regarding photography of animals, landscape and light.

We will work in small group to make it easier to give individual follow up and feedback, so that both beginners and more experience photography enthusiasts can participate.

We will stay at RIngstad Resort, a charming place close to the sea, between mountains, fjords and islets on the outside of Vesterålen. Approximately 60 kilometres from Sortland, where we will pick up our guests that arrive with either airport bus or Hurtigruten.
