The trip If you’re in the market for some authentic Norwegian nature, we recommend a trip to Hovden along the northern parts of the island. The trip takes approximately two hours, about 28 kilometres from Ringstad, one way. You’ll be travelling along beautiful roads and can stop for refreshments at the local Joker grocery store at Eidet. The road gets steeper further north (up to 70 meters elevation) along the coast. In Sandvika you will find a beautiful white beach where one can rest and enjoy the view. We highly recommend visiting Hovden for an authentic Norwegian fishing village – grab a lunch or dinner at Storhavet Café. The length of the trip is about 56 kilometres long.
