Experience Bø’s stunning landscape at a comfortable pace.

Length: About 40 kilometers.

Travel through the southern part of the island – from Ringstad to Bø Church, then to Steine and by the “The man from the Sea” statue. Stop by and view the Artscape Nordland Outdoor Gallery or explore the past at Bø Museum before you head on towards Straume.  You will pass by the beautiful beach at Fjærvollstranda, and we highly recommend stopping for a cup of coffee and a cinnamon bun at Jenny’s store “Nybaka”, which is located before the roundabout in Straume. You will also have the option of grocery shopping at Coop Prix before you turn around and head back to Ringstad. The journey is about 40 kilometers long with no major inclines.

Trip along the sea to Hovden

Length: 56 kilometers.

If you’re in the market for some authentic Norwegian nature, we would recommend a trip to Hovden along the northern parts of the island. The trip takes about two hours, about 28 kilometers from Ringstad, one way. You’ll be travelling along quaint roads and can stop for refreshments at the local Joker store at Eidet. The road starts going uphill further north (up to 70 meters elevation) along the coast. In Sandvika you’ll find a beautiful white beach where one can rest and enjoy the view. We highly recommend visiting Hovden for an authentic Norwegian fishing village-experience and finishing with lunch or dinner with Elin at Storhavet Café.

We recommend you rent a bike in advance of your trip, but we offer drop-in for rentals as long as stock lasts. Our bikes are of high quality and we offer a variety of models depending on your needs.

Daily rent is 250,- NOK. Helmet and hi-vis vest included. Seats for children will be an additional 50,- NOK.
